Upholding the traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival, Summer Palace’s dim sum chef Leong Kwok Sing brings back four of the season’s best-selling rice dumpling flavours from 25 May to 7 June, 2019.
Steamed Abalone Rice Dumpling (鲍鱼果蒸粽)
This all-time classic is a favourite go-to. The hefty bundle comes filled with a treasure trove of ingredients including abalone, black mushrooms, chestnuts, green beans, dried scallops, roasted duck and salted egg yolk wrapped in bamboo leaf. $38 per piece.
Steamed Dried Oyster Rice Dumpling (蚝豉发菜黑猪粽)
Taking on the flavours of a Chinese New Year classic, Ho See Fat Choy, this flavour of dried oysters, sea moss and kurobuta pork is an auspicious offering with the Chinese characters for these ingredients symbolising prosperity and good fortune. $28 per piece.
Steamed Eight Treasures Brown Rice Dumpling (莲子八宝粽)
Those a preference for a meat-free alternative can indulge in a nutritious blend of grains, lotus seeds, morel mushrooms, bamboo pith, oat, barley, sweet corn, black mushrooms, chestnuts and green beans are stuffed amid the fragrant rice and wrapped in bamboo leaf for a healthy yet hearty offering. $22 per piece.
Steamed Red Bean Paste Rice Dumpling (桂花豆沙枧水粽)
Sweetened with velvety red bean paste, this deeply comforting nostalgic parcel is served with osmanthus honey, which lends a light floral scent to the warm sticky rice. $13 per piece.
