Water adventures such as whale-watching, diving and snorkeling are a natural attraction for many visitors, but golf too is popular and both a professional 18-hole course and miniature golf are easily accessible. Beach-based horseriding and tennis are freely available and with two sports centres fitted out with indoor basketball courts and with the National Stadium; host to the 2007 CARICOM (Caribbean Community) Games close by, water sports are by no means the only options.
Despite 1200 years of recorded history, Provo has only a handful of historic ruins – mostly dating back to the 1700 and 1800's - scattered around the island. Cheshire Hall; a cotton plantation house constructed by British loyalists in the 1790’s, is one of the key must-see’s for history buffs.
