REGENT PALMS TURKS AND CAICOS NAMED HOTEL OF THE YEAR
Boutique resort earns top honor at the annual TCHTA Star Awards
 
Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands (March 1, 2012)–Last week, luxury, Caribbean boutique hotel, the Regent Palms Turks and Caicos, was recognized as ‘Hotel of the Year’ at the 2012 Star Awards presented by Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA).  The hotel’s onsite restaurant, Parallel23, also was honored with the coveted ‘Best Restaurant’ award.

The 12-acre luxury Caribbean resort on Grace Bay received the highest honor out of eight nominees for ‘Hotel of the Year.’  Criteria for the award was “service exceeding excellence, engulfed with positive attitude and attentiveness of staff, offers exceptional, has outstanding facilities and amenities, remarkable ambiance and the ability to provide visitors with a true sample of the TCI brand.” Parallel23 tied for first for the ‘Best Restaurant’ category, which recognizes excellent service, décor and furnishings that complement its innovative and extensive menus with immaculately presented food.
 
The Star Awards is an annual event that honors exceptional performance in the hotel industry and aims to recognize and reward those who go above and beyond the call of duty. There are fifteen notable categories, ten are judged by an independent panel of judges, and five categories are determined by the votes from TCHTA members, including ‘Hotel of the Year, ’‘Hotelier of the Year, ’‘Restaurant of the Year, ’‘Entertainer of the Year,’ and ‘Allied Member of the Year.’
